Question 1 of the Impossible Quiz Book is the first question of the Book's first chapter, "Close Encounters of the Furred Kind". This follows from the Chapter's introductory cutscene, which featured the Phlovomites trying to snatch the Impossible Quiz Book from Chris with a mechanical claw, only for it to find itself in front of the barrel of Chris's shotgun.
As Chris pulls the trigger, the game literally starting with a bang, some smoke will briefly cover the screen, and after it dissipates, you will be presented with the game's first question, which says: "How do you start an Impossible Quiz?". The options in this case are "Carefully", "Confidently", "Like this!" and "Painfully".
The answer is "Carefully", and it makes sense if you think about it, since you really don't know what to expect the first time you start playing an Impossible Quiz game. Splapp stated that there's no other logic behind this question: "Just start it carefully!".
