It's asking for the square root of an onion, and the choices you're given are "Cabbages", "Shallots", "Carrots" and "Potatoes".
The correct one in this case is "Shallots", which is the name of a botanical variety of the onions. They're smaller in size and taste slightly different, but their culinary uses are nearly identical.
This question also appeared in the full Impossible Quiz as the sixth one, with the some of the options changed and the word "Onions" replaced by simply "Onion", though the answer remains the same.
