The Impossible Quiz

Question 83 from the Impossible Quiz asks "What does 'D.N.A' stand for?", and the possible choices are "Deoxyribonucleic Acid", "Do Not Abbreviate", "Doormat, nice abacus" and "National Dyslexic Association".

While the term "D.N.A." does indeed stand for "Deoxyribonucleic Acid", an important molecule related to human genetics, that's NOT the answer. The correct answer is actually "National Dyslexic Association", since the question is making a joke out of people with Dyslexia, a learning disability characterised by difficulties regarding text comprehension, reading and writing.

Mobile version

Since making a joke about Dyslexia could have been offensive to many people, this question was removed from the iOS version of The Impossible Quiz, in favour of a brand new, less aggravating one. The new Question 83 says "How many Surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?"; the possible choices are "This is not a question", "I'm an Impressionist", "17.5" and "Fish".

Since the Surrealism was characterised by works featuring unexpected, illogical elements and situations combined, the answer to this question should be equally eccentric. So the most fitting answer in this case would be "Fish".

  • The option "This is not a question" in the mobile version is a reference to the painting The Treachery of Images by the Surrealist painter René Magritte, which depicted a pipe with the text "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" ("This is not a pipe") emblazoned beneath it.
